For immediate release, December 4, 2024:
Concord Township Residents,
Concord Township is looking for residents to serve on a committee to update the township’s comprehensive plan. The Comprehensive Land Use Plan (Comp Plan) is the vision and roadmap for development in the Township. The last major update was in 2016 with minor updates in ’18 and ’21. Delaware County Regional Planning, the Concord Township Zoning Commission and the Trustees use this document as a guide when a zoning change application is made for a new housing development, commercial business, etc. This committee will provide input in updating the Comp Plan to give residents a voice in how they want to see development in their Township. Ultimately this document will be forwarded to the Trustee to adopt. If you have any questions feel free to call any of the Trustees with questions:...
Concord Township has an open position on the Township Board of Zoning Commission (BZC). This position is an alternate position and will stand in when a regular member cannot attend a meeting.
Public Meetings will be held one time per month or as needed. The BZC’s responsibilities include updating the Zoning Resolution and Comprehensive Plan as needed, review rezoning applications and preliminary development plans for compliance with the zoning resolution and make a recommendation for consideration to the Trustees. The City of Columbus currently owns and operates three water plants, collectively supplying an average of 145 million gallons per day of drinking water to Columbus and surrounding central Ohio communities. The continued growth of population and industry in central Ohio, along with the need to increase reliability and resiliency across the water supply system, has driven the need for additional water capacity.
The design process for the fourth water plant was initiated in winter 2023 by the Department of Public Utilities (DPU) with the goal of bringing the new facility online by the end of 2028. The new Home Road water plant will be built on DPU-owned property along the Scioto River at the southeast corner of Home and Dublin roads in Delaware County.
Survey crews will conduct ecological surveys and field walks along the entire length of the recommended transmission main corridors from now through the endof 2024. All work will be within the road right-of-way....
