About The Chief

Chief Todd Cooper has been a resident of Delaware County since 1966 and is a 32-year veteran of the Concord Township Fire Department.  He joined the department in 1989 as a part-time firefighter and in April of 1992 he was hired as a firefighter/paramedic.  He was promoted to Lieutenant in 1994, to Captain in 2002, and to Fire Chief on July 26, 2007.

Chief Cooper has extensive specialized training and certifications including:  numerous National Fire Academy courses, State Certification as Fire Officer, Fire Instructor, Fire Inspector and Emergency Medical Technician / paramedic.  He has a Bachelor's of Science from the University of Cincinnati.

Concord Township Fire and rescue covers 23 square miles and provides an array of services for the 11,300 residents.  We currently employ a full-time Fire Chief, 19 Full-Time Firefighters, and 18 part-time firefighters.  We have a daily manning of 5 firefighters minimum.  All of our full-time firefighters are also paramedics, and many are rescue technicians with specialized training in rope rescue, water rescue, large animal rescue, auto extrication, confined space, trench rescue, and structural collapse.
